The 1, 2, 3 of Mental Health: A path to flourishing you
The talk around and of Mental health is growing and I hope it stays; even if all the talk may not be productive. Unlike what content out there has lead us to believe, taking care of our mental health is not overly complicated. I believe that we, as adults, understand our normal. We understand the point at which our thoughts, our relationships, our work or our lifestyle is starting to go away from our normal. And this space is where you can start.

The 1: To reflect on our "normals"
If our life is put on a graph, then zero line becomes our normal. If we happen to be functioning a little below that line, then chances are that we can function again at our normal. That's resilience. That's willpower to change. That's our individual strength.
But in case we happen to be functioning way below our normal, then probably we need to ask for some external help and take some alternative action.
Although the normal is manageable and keeping us happy, some of us may want to function above our normal. Sometimes, we would like to go beyond our normal and inculcate practices that are not about problem solving but about flourishing ourselves. That's drive to grow. That's your need to flourish.

The 2: To objectively check with our mental health
It becomes important to check with ourselves to understand where we are at and if we would like to change it. The most easiest way to is to divide our lives into 6 to 7 areas and rate it out of 10 based the amount of happiness or content you feel in that area. It is way to reflect on ourselves. I have provided a way to do just that right here and you will be understand what your balance visually.
Take a min and rate yourself in each area and see the balance of your life.
The 3: To take action, in your way
Once you have an idea of where you are and how your balance looks like, you can start to focus one or two areas. There are 2 ways to go about it.
You can focus on bringing the areas which are low, to high.
You can focus on maintaining the areas which are high.
In either of the ways, you jot down any 2 things or actions that you can do achieve the goal. Try to keep the action easy to do and time bound.
For example, it I want to bring my social area from a 2 to 8, then I can take some time out from a Sunday and call that friend in the US and I can go to a book club and interact with people.
At any point during this process, it can be beneficial to involve a trusted and qualified psychologist to help you navigate the complexities and challenges that may arise. They can assist in identifying underlying issues that may be influencing your thoughts and actions, offering insights that you might not have considered on your own. This professional guidance can help you to clarify your goals, enhance your self-awareness, and develop healthier thought patterns. In addition, engaging with a psychologist can create a safe and confidential space for you to express your feelings and concerns without judgment.
